The mission of International Equine is to provide responsible stewardship and long-term development of thoroughbreds who can compete and win at the highest levels of racing. We focus on the improvement of the breed and surround our equine athletes with passionate people who’ll support their progression throughout their lifespans. We are strongly committed to the thoroughbreds under our care, as well as the industry and individuals around them.
When identifying thoroughbreds for breeding or racing, we focus heavily on genetics, international pedigree research, and the power of the female family. Our goal is to build stamina, speed and most importantly, durability into the North America and European Thoroughbred.
We are steadfast in our evaluation of proper conformation and look for athletic individuals with great minds. As a “race to breed” organization we hope to pass along the best attributes of the individual to the next generation, thus improving the breed over time. Our process is thorough, patient, and diligent. In any given year we evaluate hundreds of thoroughbreds, attending all major sales in person or via our bloodstock advisors. We choose only a few. Our mission is a long-term process for the betterment of the breed.
The Thoroughbred exists because its selection has depended, not on experts, technicians, or zoologists, but on a piece of wood: the winning post of the Epsom Derby. If you base your criteria on anything else, you will get something else, not the Thoroughbred.
